In one of our previous articles we talked about 5G and everything we need to know about it and we see how cool it is to work with a 5G network. Super fast and effective. I don’t have to worry about how slow my network is when I have online conference meetings or my online classes or online gaming competitions. Everything can be done online without having to be there because of the great network speed. The whole world is going virtual.
So now let’s imagine if that is what 5G can do now. What about in the next 10 years? Imagining it is mind blowing right?
With the speed and capability of the 5G network, we are convinced that it would have a positive impact in all sectors in the world. Be it economics or employment or transport or education or even the environment. All sectors entirely. What a relief. We as humans would be living an almost stress-free life. And having to worry about almost nothing. This 5G can almost make someone lazy. Let’s see its impact on some sectors.
By increasing the deployment of smart factories, 5G would be able to cover specific areas. Engineer’s performance would be error-free and reliable.
Factories equipment and machines would be upgraded and would function with almost no need for human supervision as a result of the faster and highly responsive wireless connectivity.
Workers in all departments, especially those who work in factories, would have a high guaranteed safety and performance because there would be robots to handle repetitive tasks or tasks that involve lifting heavy objects.
Current Jobs will change because some services won’t be needed again like Travel Agents, Typist, Cashiers, Newspaper Delivery, Taxi Drivers among a few. New jobs will appear. Experts would offer remote assistance.
Even our environment would be positively affected as well. For example, the transport sector, 5G will reduce physical travel and therefore lower greenhouse gas emissions (environmental pollution reduced). The transport system would be E-hailing cars, electric vehicles, electric scooters, drones and even autonomous buses. So cool!!! Imagine ordering something online and instead of the normal delivery guy it is actually a drone who drops your order.
This also applies to water and waste management. It would increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse emissions as mentioned earlier and enable more use of renewable energy. It can help reduce air and water pollution, minimize water and food waste and also protect wildlife. It can also widen our understanding and improve decision making about weather, agriculture, pests, industry, waste reduction and a lot more.
The 5G IoT(Internet of Things)technology to create smart cities where sensors, cameras and smartphones would be linked. Imagine you are out of your house and you forgot to put off your AC and you are far away from home. With the help of IoT you can switch it off from your phone. Formerly it was only computers, smart phones, tablets and televisions that can be connected to the internet but with the help of IoT appliances can be connected remotely. With IoT you can do anything from your home even when you are not at home or you feel too lazy to get up to do it. Almost like telekinesis but in the technology version. Isn’t it fascinating. Like turning on the water heater, open window blinds and so much more.
The connectivity and speed of the 5G network will allow cities and homes to be managed properly and more efficiently and sustainable.
With 5G buildings would also benefit from increased energy efficiency
Another amazing benefit of this 5G is Apple’s Watch fall detection capability. If a person wears the watch and suffers from a fall, the watch automatically dial emergency services if the user doesn’t cancel it and it would also transfer the user’s location and medical records to the first responder. Amazing isn’t it?
5G technology has the ability to deliver energy to low power devices which means that as long as an IoT device is within that area the device can operate without charging.
With the high bandwidth and low latency of the 5G network mixed reality content and videos can be made. 4G struggled with AR(Augmented Reality) and VR(Visual Reality) but with 5G experience would be seamless. With VR students can tour the human body or visit plants while with AR they can explore concepts through touch, pinch or zoom through the Earth as soon as they think of it .
The Gen Z being the lovers of videos can use it to learn. Teachers can make videos of lessons with animations and they can learn with it. And with 5G downloading these videos would be super fast. You won’t spend hours trying to download a full course of about 10 videos like when 4G was being used.
5G would enable roots to be full-time help and support to teachers by responding immediately to help with learning for students with special needs unlike the previous generation where the robot applications which help with problems solving aren’t as the students they are meant to help.
Now we see how wonderful the 5G network is to all sectors even though a few were mentioned here. Isn’t it that great? Anticipate technology in the next 10 years!!!
